Description
This organic cotton yarn is spun and dyed in North Carolina, USA for Meridian Mill House. It is a high quality, tactile yarn and is both smooth and strong.
It can be substituted for an 8/4 cotton, but compared with our Lankava 8/4 mercerised yarn it has a lovely matt appearance and a tighter twist. In terms of thickness is falls somewhere between our popular 3/2 and 5/2 yarns, and can be used to replace a doubled 8/2 cotton.
Typical uses are:
- Table mats and runners, where a thick and firm cloth is required.
- Dish cloths and tea towels.
- Inkle weaving.
- Crochet, using a 2.5mm hook.
- Knitting summer weight garments, using 2.5mm / size 12 needles.
This yarn is ideal as both a warp and weft on both rigid heddle and shaft looms.
Made from 100% cotton produced to organic standards in the USA.
