Silk noil, sometimes called raw silk, is a short fibre which is a by-product of combing silk before spinning. Sero is a rustic, nubby, matt yarn that weaves into an ethereal fabric with a soft hand and exquisite drape. It is an easy, consistent yarn to weave with, creating a wonderful experience for both newer and experienced weavers, on both a rigid heddle or multi-shaft looms.
Sero is suitable as a weft yarn, and can be used as a warp yarn by paying careful attention to tension. For a stronger silk warp consider our 20/2Nm Mulberry Silk.
Sero is made in Nanchong’s Yilong County, in the northeast of Sichuan province in China.
Care: we recommend gentle hand washing with a mild detergent in cool water. Avoid wringing or twisting your finished pieces—let them air dry flat for best results.
