Description
Meridian Mill House 8/2Ne Tencel in a lovely range of space dyed colours.
Tencel is the trade name for yarn made from 100% Lyocell. It is made using a similar manufacturing process for rayon but using a closed loop system which recycles water and chemicals so is deemed to be more environmentally friendly. Because it is made from cellulose Tencel is biodegradable.
Tencel works well for differential shrinkage or matt and shiny effects. Often used for projects in Handwoven Magazine. It makes beautiful wraps and scarves and yardage for garments has a lovely sheen and drape. The natural takes Procion Dyes beautifully. The yarn is smooth and strong and can also be used for knitting and crochet.
